Cranberry Almond Coffee Cake

1Combine flour , baking soda , baking powder , and salt .flour: 2 c, baking soda: 1 tsp, baking powder: 1 tsp, salt: 1/2 tsp

2Set aside.

3Cream butter and sugar .butter: 1/2 c, sugar: 1 c

4Add eggs to creamed mixture.eggs: 2

5Mix.

6Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with plain yogurt or sour cream .plain yogurt or sour cream: 1 c

7Mix in almond extract or almond extract & vanilla extract .almond extract: 1 tsp, almond extract: 3/4 tsp, vanilla extract: 1/4 tsp

8Spread half of batter in a greased and floured 9 x 13” cake pan .

9Spread the cranberry sauce over batter.cranberry sauce: 8 oz

11Spread remaining batter over sauce.

12Top with almonds (slivered or sliced) .almonds (slivered or sliced): 1/2 c

13Bake at 350 degrees for ⏱️ 30-45 minutes .

14Drizzle with icing while cake is still warm.

15Icing: (I used less than a full recipe)

16Mix powdered sugar , warm water , and almond extract .powdered sugar: 1/2 c, warm water: 1 T, almond extract: 1/8 tsp

17Add more water if needed.

18Drizzle over cake.
